WATCH: The Jonas Brothers Talk Break Up on Good Morning America

Yesterday, the sad news was confirmed … The Jonas Brothers have decided to call it quits, though Kevin Jonas just says, “It’s over for now.” The decision came after a meeting on October 3, 2013, where Nick Jonas confessed to his brothers that he had concerns about the future of the band. Nick told People:

I was feeling kind of trapped. I needed to share my heart with my brothers.

This morning, Good Morning America hosted the brotherly trio on their show with their first interview since the split.

Fans have lined up all night to see the band appear on GMA … perhaps they’re hoping that all their support will change the mind of the boys. As the cameras focused on the boys before their interview, their were no smiles to be seen. The boys took time to walk through their fans, take photos with them, and give autographs before their interview, but none of the boys looked too happy today, which is definitely understandable.

Kevin opens up saying that they felt the time had come that the Jonas Brothers comes to an end. Then Nick chimes in, admitting it was he who first brought up their issues, saying that each individual had been hiding their feelings about the band’s future. Nick says they choose to be brothers first and wish to be individuals in their careers. Joe feels they held onto their music for too long and that things felt like they were getting stale.

When asked if they would be completing the album they started this year, Kevin replied that they will not be finishing it. But, they didn’t want to leave their fans hanging, so they will be putting out 4 of their unreleased tracks in addition to 10 live recordings.

Nick says his next step will be more music, but acting as well. Joe will also be acting and working on music individually, continuing to support his brothers in their future ventures.

Then, Kevin’s impending fatherhood is brought up. He’s excited about being a father as well as continuing the business side of things.

As far as down the road, the boys will never say never, but feel this is the right decision for now.
