Although it's not secret that the Hobbit franchise is a trilogy for a very important reason in the world of movies, the latest trailer for the second installment in Peter Jackson's acclaimed Hobbit trilogy debuts a brand-new trailer courtesy of Warner Bros. Stephen Fry will play the Master of Lake-town, along with Evangaline Lily as the elf Tauriel, who adds a much needed female companion on the quest to defeat the dragon Smaug and reclaim the kingdom of Thorin Oakenshield.
Additionally, the fearsome elven archer Legolas, played by Orlando Bloom, makes a return to the franchise, and the trailer hints at a possible romantic subplot between himself and Tauriel. The stage is set for the adventures of the merry band of dwarves, along with the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, played by Martin Freeman and franchise mainstay Gandalf the Gray, played by the venerable Ian McKellen.
Look out for a December 13th release, right in time for the upcoming holiday season.
