Magic Johnson’s son made headlines this week after he was spotted out in public hand in hand with an unidentified man reports TMZ.
Earvin “E.J.” Johnson III, one of Lakers legend Magic Johnson’s three sons, was walking on the Sunset Strip wearing a fur coat and sporting a handbag with the man, who is reportedly his new boyfriend–and his his parents couldn’t be more proud.
“Cookie and I love EJ and support him in every way.” Magic told TMZ. “We’re very proud of him.”

Apparently the father and son have a very close relationship and E.J. told TMZ that he is “hoping and praying” for the Los Angeles Lakers, owned by Magic and whose playoff chances are in jeopardy.
“They have a lot of work to do, as far as I’ve heard,” E.J. says of the Lakers, “but other than that, I’m going to hope and pray for them, too, because I always root for my Lakers.”
The 20-year-old is a student at New York University and although he has never been public about his sexuality before his recent outing, there is nothing to suggest that he was not open about it prior. Rumors about his father’s sexuality arose after he tested positive for HIV in 1991, but Magic has always used his celebrity status to spread awareness and tolerance.
