A&E's hit show Hoarders is kind of hard to watch for a full episode. I mean, it's always the same: gross human being has too much crap, people get rid of it, gross human being flips out in entertaining ways. Throw in a dead cat buried under old newspapers ever few episodes and it writes itself. But every once in a while, there's an absolutely insane, transcendent moment that makes the whole endeavor worthwhile. Here's my five favorites, both from the show and from other hoarders around the world.
This is like a straight up peek into OCD hell - a toothless Red State lunatic with a collapsing garbage heap full of dead cats, rotting trash and general party.
Okay, when it starts out, this dude looks pretty normal. And then his alter ego "Banshee" enters the scene and the crazy starts exploding out of every hole.
Look, having a pet rat is odd enough, but if you're hoarding rats, somebody should probably breakout the straight jacket. Or at the very least, get this guy a pet cat.
What puts this bit over the top is the constant profanity coming out of this guy's mouth as he watches his crazy Mom pick up garbage from the curb and bring it back to her insane house.
A lot of hoarders seem to be morbidly obese, but the winner has to be poor Dennis, who is at the mercy of his wife's endless clutter. The money shot comes towards the end of this clip, where he interrupts Nadene's tirade about her precious crap to ask for... a pickle. Special bonus: their frustrated daughter punching herself in the head.
