Robin sucks. There, I said it. Even in the 1960s Batman TV show it was apparent that Robin was mostly dead weight. Yea, he was good when you needed somebody with the body of a 13-yr-old girl to squeeze through an air duct, but kicking bad dude ass? Not so much. He's pretty much always been the equivalent of a tag-along kid brother who mostly just got in the way. From the multicolored costume to his name, nothing about this guy is intimidating to criminals.
When '60s Robin find himself attempting to help the Dark Knight in a fight against Bane, it becomes immediately apparent that the guy would be better suited working at Chucky Cheese than fighting crime. He's not the hero that Gotham needs or wants. In any, way shape or form.
