This is my video to win the Bandit. I've got the shirt, the belt and the boots. I've almost got it all. This short video is was made by me over the Thanksgiving weekend. Special thanks to my wife for allowing it to happen!!!

Burt's Bandit Would 'Jumpstart' Our Lives!

This is our video 'illustrating' why we deserve the Bandit Trans Am that Burt Reynolds buiit! It features me, my wife Lori, our two girls and our driveway! The video was a family effort and just like DIY Television...we did it OURSELVES! The music is courtesy of 'Resident Clark'...a great band out of Memphis, TN. They were former high school students of mine and know how much winning this car would mean to me. That's why they gave me full rights to use their song! I first saw Smokey and the Bandit when I was 7 years old...the same age my daughter is now. I've been in love with that car ever since! We enjoyed watching the DIY Celebrity Ride shows and we'd LOVE to win Burt's Bandit! Winning this car would really help 'jumpstart' our lives! Enjoy!

I thought it was great the way you had your face plastered to the window of Year One Garrett. I'm starting to put together my schedule for next year and the Bandit Run is on my list, I just need to work out the logistics. I'm not sure that I'm going to make it but if I do I'm taking you up on dinner!

Dude, I'm right down the road from Year One. If you come out here for the Bandit Run (assuming it ends at Year One again), I'd love to say hey and see the car. Heck, you can even come over for dinner!

Thank you. Hey whbell, I can't believe that you were the Original Bandit! I think that you ought to make a little movie to re-create that story.

RedTA - I got your messages and I'll be joining the forum pretty soon. I'm a bit overwhelmed with all this new attention, but I want to start planning for all the events to visit in 2008.

So this is an open request, where are you guys at and what shows should I try and schedule to have the bandit at? I'm in Arizona so it'll take some coordination to get to everywhere, but I totally want to share this experience with as many people as possible. SO, where and when in 2008 is the bandit going to show up? Suggestions?

Congrats on your winning video Spencer. When I first heard about this contest I figured with the event in my life before Smokey & the Bandit came out, I was a shoe in. Problem is my story could only be told because I couldn't fathom the movie not to mention this contest 31 years later. If I had I would have video documented that trip and maybe this would have gone my way. I did the best I could with what I had to work with to tell my Trans Am story. I planned to relive it, now you can relive it for me. Good luck my man.

Hey WreckTA, you don't suck at ALL. When we talk about your video around my house we refer to you as "the competition". I really do think that you did a great job with that video. I think that I'm going to have to get a car mount for my camera so I can get some of those great shots like you did.

A sincere congrats on the big win...anyone who submitted a video knows all the hard work that goes into making them. I know I gave my 110% and i can see that you did as well. You are luckier than you will ever know. Please enjoy that car for all of us, and be sure to upload alot of pictures. God bless, & take care of that car...she is a beauty!!

Spencer INCREDIBLE job on this. I feel very lucky to be in the company of you other finalists. There is some real talent here and a lot of passion. The suspense is killing me for tonight! And the even crazier part is that I will have to catch the episode later. My daughter has a Christmas recital tonight I wouldn't miss for the world (or the Bandit :)

Spencer..you have nothing to apologize for...CarGuy is just being nasty...your video was fantastic...when the contest was first announced...I actually thought about doing something very similar but with my whole family driving a 'ghost' car...I ended up doing a little bit of that in our 'jumpstart' video. And, yes, that was me you saw on the Bandit Run stuff....we are big fans of the car and Burt. I was even there over 15 years ago when he made an appearance at Evening Shade High School in Arkansas...back when he was on that show. It was a lot of fun. I remember that the description of the contest said to be creative, recreate a scene from the movie, grow a mustache etc. In my entry video I showed that I've got the hat, the shirt, the belt and the boots. I also showed that I've got some sweet driving skill. :D

"All I need now is the car."

The contest was all done in fun, and I had a blast doing it. I'm glad you liked it enough to comment.

LOL! I'm only 6' 3". :D I shot it widescreen, but something when wrong in the conversion. I wanted to get this into the contest before the deadline and didn't mind that things got a little stretched.
