
The 60s were the first decade in which racial integration became a serious topic. The gorgeous Lola Falana rose to fame alongside Sammy Davis Jr, but really came into her own towards the end of the decade when she relocated to Italy and starred in a number of spaghetti Westerns, earning the nickname "The Black Venus." She posed for Playboy and was the first African-American model to appear in cosmetics ads that weren't targeted exclusively towards African-Americans.
