Exclusive Interview With Jennifer Korbin From Cinemax’s Lingerie

posted October 14, 2010 by

Jennifer Korbin is one of the stars of Lingerie, the hit Cinemax After Dark series that delves into the steamy world of ladies’ underwear design. Jennifer Korbin is a familiar face to fans of hotness, having appeared in several Playboy videos and guest hosted episodes of E’s Wild On. We sat down with her to talk about what’s coming on the second season of Lingerie, every Friday at midnight.

Heavy.com: How did you get cast in the show?

I knew John Quinn, the show’s creator from a couple gigs in the past that I didn’t take. He had wanted to work with me and when the show started they just called and offered me the part.

Heavy.com: What led you to take the part of Lacey?

It seemed very natural – I share some character traits with her, I identify with her past as a model, I identify with designing things and managing people – I’m a single mother, that’s one thing that I do well. And the main thing was John Quinn, the creator – he’s just an exceptional person.

Heavy.com: What’s your favorite part of doing a series?

The first season was a little surreal, it’s just now sinking in. I went on a press junket after the first season and I’m a very private person, so its been a little challenging going out and having people recognize me. It’s a little awkward I think, but other opportunities have come my way as a result of it, and I’m very excited about those.

Heavy.com: How is Season 2 of Lingerie different from the first season?

In the first season we had two directors, but for the second we only have one, and that’s one thing I’m happy about. That director also appreciates comedy, and ultimately where I want to go is into comedy. So this season is really funny, there’s some really funny stuff that was not written as funny but became so when we performed it. There’s also two times as many people in cast now, and things are moving in more of a soap opera direction, which is fun.

Heavy.com: What do you see yourself doing next?

I’m actually hoping to get a role in a film – I’m waiting to hear about that. It’s really promising. The kind of things offered to me right now are horror, sci fi, but basically I want to do something completely different from what I’m doing now and demonstrate diversity. Eventually I do want to go into comedy – romantic comedies, or a sitcom.

Heavy.com: How hard was the decision to pass on the audition to become a Playboy playmate to finish school?

It was more out of guilt, really! In addition to everything, it was also Father’s Day that day. My Dad just wanted me to finish college and then I could do what wanted. I knew it the was right thing, and I didn’t want to drop everything to go to Hollywood. I’d certainly heard some horror stories about people who did that.
